Child & Family Specialist

The Child and Family Specialist will work in the home, school, community or tele-health settings and teach skill building interventions to improve overall behaviors and functioning, providing rehab and case management services to assigned clients and families as a member of the Child and Family Team. In this role, the Child and Family Specialist will utilize techniques such as role modeling, role playing, trauma focused/informed behavior modification interventions and social skills development, while assisting the youth and families with engagement throughout the Wraparound process.

The Child and Family Specialist must possess strong documentation skills, be organized, pro-active, detail orientated, have an understanding of the principles of family centered, strength based services and demonstrate an ability to function within a multi-disciplinary team. The Child and Family Specialist is an “on-call” position requiring the candidate to be available to the clients and families on their caseload on a 24/7 basis for crises and emergencies as needed.

Required: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field, pass a criminal background clearance and hold a valid CA driver’s license.

Experience in Social Services, mental health or related field is a plus. Bi-lingual English/Spanish preferred but not required. Comprehensive and relevant training and development programs are provided to all employees.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.45 – $17.00 per hour

Bayfront Youth & Family Services is now seeking a Clinician to join our Outpatient team to provide school-linked and various Outpatient services.

Must be registered with the CA. Board of Behavioral Sciences (MFTI, MFT, LCSW, ASW or MSW). Must be willing to drive throughout LA County, pass a criminal background clearance, and hold a valid CA driver’s license. Must have experience working with high-risk youth, be willing to drive throughout LA County and pass criminal background check. Knowledge of LA County DMH paperwork requirements preferred. Bi-lingual Spanish preferred. Available 24/7 for crisis response.

Mental Health Rehab Specialist

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist provides Therapeutic Behavior Services (TBS) to children and adolescents in the community, residential treatment settings and/or group homes under the direct supervision of the TBS Program Manager. TBS services include behavioral interventions designed to reduce the risk of clients entering a higher level of care or to assist them with transitioning to a lower level of care. TBS services are designed to be short-term & intensive, and the Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist may work between 7-20 hours/week one-on-one with each client and/or their caregiver. The TBS Coach will be traveling up to 100 miles one way to provide services in Ventura county in either a foster home or residential treatment setting. The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist receives weekly individual supervision from the TBS Program Manager and group supervision 1x/month.

One (1) year direct service experience with severely emotionally disturbed (SED) youth in an inpatient or outpatient health care setting required.

Valid California Driver’s License, required.

Ability to pass a DOJ criminal clearance check.

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, sociology, health and human services, counseling, education or other relevant field from an accredited college or university is required.

Parent Partner

The Parent Partner is responsible for providing direct support services to the families and youth in the Bayfront Outpatient Programs. Assists the family in learning communication skills, educates the family about family/child service agencies, community resources, and teaches advocacy skills. Collaborates (as needed) with the Care Coordinators, Facilitators, Rehab Specialists and Child and Family Specialists with family and community engagement, advising on parent and family concerns within the Child and Family Team (CFT). Advocates on behalf of the parent/caregivers and supports their voice in the development of the Family Safety Crisis Plans. Responsible for participating in the coordination and ongoing execution of the Parent Training and Education Program and monthly Parent Council groups. Is available 24 hours day, 7 days per week for crisis response.


Work experience requirements:


High School diploma or GED.

You must be the biological or adoptive parent of a child with special needs. Past experience and/or involvement with County Department of Mental Health, Child and Family Services, or Probation.

Bi-lingual in English, Spanish, Korean, Farsi, and Vietnamese is preferred but not required.

Wraparound Intensive Care Coordinator

The Wraparound Intensive Care Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of care for clients in the Wraparound program. The WICC is member of the Wraparound Team which also consists of the Child & Family Specialist, the Parent Partner, and the Clinician. The Wraparound Intensive Care Coordinator is available 24/7 for crisis response and is responsible for facilitating and gathering information during CFT meeting process so that a written individualized plan is collectively developed to include the youth and family’s strengths.


Work experience requirements:


Minimum 3 yrs direct service experience with severely emotionally disabled clients in an inpatient or outpatient setting preferred. One (1) year case management experience preferred.


Bachelor’s Degree in social services or related field required.
